Item THE DETERMINANTS OF CONSUMER PRICE INDEX IN KOSOVO(AAB College, 2025-07-18) Maliqi, Muhabere; Vrajolli, AmernisaUsing Consumer Price Index, the health of the economy can be in control and the state can take necessary preventive measures otherwise not taken could lead to devastating effects in the form of high unemployment, bankruptcies and major financial losses. This study uses quarterly data of Kosovo from 2006 to 2018. Quarterly data is taken from Central Bank of Kosovo, Agency of Statistics of Kosovo and Ministry of Finance version which include Consumer Price Index, Money Supply, Gross Domestic Product, and Interest Rate. Data analysis will be carried out with the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS). The data have been analyzed with multiple regressions method, using namely Pearson’s correlations, Multicolinearity, One-Way ANOVAs, F-test, and T-tests. We found that there is strong relationship between consumer price index (CPI) and GDP. When the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increases, it will also increase consumer price index as these two have linear relationship. Also there is strong correlation between money supply and consumer price index, which means that the mean of CPI increases when money supply increases. However, there is negative correlation between interest rate and CPI, when interest rate increases, CPI decreasesItem The Effect of Competency-Based Curriculum on the Promotion of Social Values and Civic Education in the Pre-University Education: Case of Kosovo(AAB College, 2025-07-18) Maliqi, MuhabereThis study investigates teachers’ understanding of the competency-based curriculum framework. In addition, it investigates teachers’ opinions on the promotion of civic education and social values through the curricular framework, and what impediments teachers face in implementing the curriculum on the civic education subject. A questionnaire, including structured and open-ended questions, was developed and distributed to 318 teachers. Findings of this study indicated that the majority of teachers understand the curricular framework including core and subject curricula, related to civic education and social values. In addition, findings indicate there are inadequate textbooks and insufficient professional development and training of teachers. Findings also indicate that inappropriate infrastructure and adequate equipment have a negative effect on the implementation of competency-based curricula. Recommendations highlight the need for a revision of textbooks based on the curricular framework provisions and additional training of teachers on implementing the competency-based curriculum. In addition, there is a need for providing adequate working conditions for teachers. Recommendation for future research is to include other factors such as students’ performance and outcomes of the educational process.Item Teachers’ Perspectives on Innovative and Interactive Teaching Methods: Perspective of Mobile Learning(AAB College, 2025-07-17) Kasumi, HysenThis study aims to reflect teachers' perspectives on the use of innovative and interactive teaching methods (mobile learning and others) and to present the importance of the application of modern teaching methods by firstlevel teachers (grades 1-5) and second-level teachers (grades 6-9), in the development of student competencies. The research includes the Anamorava Region in Kosovo which covers an area of 650 km2 and has about 200,000 inhabitants. Quantitative methods were used to research this issue, while Likert scale questionnaires were used as a tool for measuring teachers' thoughts and attitudes. The research sample consists of 97 teachers working with first and second-level students. The results show that teachers do not use a variety of methods while a number of them state that teaching methods are always in coherence with the age and skills of students. While abundant research exists on how such practices impact student learning in EFL classes around the world, this research still remains scarce in Kosovo. Therefore, the current research addresses this existing gap by exploring the link between teacher classroom practices and student learning. Participants of this study included 10th and 11th grade students across six municipalities in Kosovo (N=237). The respondents were asked to complete a questionnaire inquiring about practices adopted by teachers to teach EFL. The results reveal disparate teaching practices adopted by teachers to teach the material. To that end, female students report enhances participatory and collaborative approaches used by teachers and in the meantime an overall higher perception of the chances given by teachers to express opinions and ideas in class, compared to male students. Similarly, 10th grade students reported higher opportunities provided by the teacher in class to express opinions as well as collaborate with other students to complete tasks. Finally, significant positive correlations are evident between certain collaborative and participatory approaches utilized by teachers in class as well as students’ motivation.
